I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to our Department of English Language and Literature. By embarking on the study of English language and literature, we are embarking on an enlightening journey into not only the cultural but also the intellectual life of the Western world, opening up new horizons. Over the course of these four years, our program, which encompasses not only literature but also linguistics and language teaching courses, will encourage the individual and professional development of our students. In their first year, students will lay the foundation of their literary journey with courses such as "Introduction to English Literature I-II," while in their second year, they will deepen their knowledge in the field of linguistics with courses like "Phonetics," "Linguistics," and "Language Acquisition." As they progress through the program, they will have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as "Romantic Period Literature," "Victorian Era Literature," and "Modern Novel." I would like to express my gratitude to our dedicated faculty members who are committed to excellence in education and research. I also extend my thanks to our students, whose presence here enriches our community and gives meaning to our endeavors.
