The programs offered in our department encompass the studies conducted and currently being conducted in the field of English Literature and Culture. The aim of the program is to graduate students who can produce contemporary ideas in line with the scientific studies conducted in this department. The courses in the program also include an advanced analysis of literary works of different genres from theoretical/social, historical, and cultural perspectives. Therefore, an interdisciplinary approach will be adopted. The aim is to conduct interdisciplinary research and studies on English Language and Literature and culture, and to equip students with research skills in English Language and Literature. The table below shows the names of the courses offered in each academic semester of the doctoral program: Admission: To apply for the doctoral program, candidates must have a master's degree in English Language and Literature or English Culture and Literature. Additionally, candidates must have valid ALES and YDS or YÖKDİL scores (minimum 55 for ALES, minimum 80 for YDS). The evaluation for student admission is calculated with 50% of the ALES score, 30% of the GPA, and 20% of the YDS score (or an equivalent exam). Foreign students wishing to apply for the doctoral program must have obtained a minimum of 55 points in YDS from a language recognized by the Interuniversity Board or an equivalent score from an exam recognized by the Interuniversity Board. The University Council will decide on equivalence. The Senate has the right to increase the minimum scores according to the nature of the registered program if necessary. Graduation: Students must have completed the criteria required by the Institute of Social Sciences, including obtaining the necessary credits and accepting the doctoral thesis.
