Students who are eligible to study in our department can apply to the department adaptation commission for the recognition of their previous learning processes after completing their definitive registrations.
Course Enrollment and Course Exemption ARTICLE 13 - (1) Students determine the courses they will take through the internet within the course registration renewal period. The course registration renewal process becomes final after the approval of the advisor. For the course registration renewal and the courses taken to be valid, the tuition fee and the educational fee must be paid. (2) During the course registration renewal period; first-year students are required to take all courses offered, while other students must first take the courses they failed and the ones they were unable to take previously. Students can change, drop, or add new courses within the maximum course load limit during the course registration renewal period. After this period, no changes can be made to the course registration for any reason. (3) Students who fail due to absenteeism in courses removed from the curriculum will take the courses replaced for them; if there is no replacement course, they will not be held responsible for these courses, but they will take other courses to complete the total credits required for graduation. However, students who take courses removed from the curriculum and fail to pass them will take the midterm and end-of-semester exams to be held for these courses. (4) Students may also take courses from other units of the university or other higher education institutions with the decision of the Board of Directors. (5) Students only attend the courses they are registered for and take exams for those courses. The grade of a student who attends the exam for a course they are not registered for will be invalidated. (6) Students newly enrolled in our department must apply to the Dean's Office with a petition accompanied by a transcript and course descriptions at the beginning of the academic year they are registered for and no later than the end of the second week if they wish to request exemption from courses they have successfully completed at higher education institutions. Students who do not apply for exemption within the specified period cannot apply for exemption again. Exemption applications are made only once and within the specified period mentioned above and are evaluated by the adaptation commissions according to the provisions of this directive within fifteen days at the latest from the date of application and decided by the Board of Directors. Grade conversions are made in accordance with the decisions taken by the Senate regarding "Relative Grade Conversion Methods". Students applying for exemption must continue to attend the courses for which they have requested exemption until their applications are decided by the Board of Directors. (7) The maximum number of weekly course hours a student can take each semester is determined by the Senate. The maximum course hours include all courses (such as Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution, Turkish Language, Foreign Language, Professional Foreign Language, Graduation Thesis, etc.) and projects, graduation projects, and similar weekly courses included in the weekly course schedule. (8) First-year students and students with a general grade point average below 2.00 cannot take courses from upper semesters. Students with a general grade point average above 2.00 and no failed courses, and students with a general grade point average above 2.50 and failed courses can take courses to fulfill the maximum course load in each semester for a maximum of two upper semesters. Students with a general grade point average between 1.00-1.99 can take courses up to 75% of the maximum course load. Students with a general grade point average below 1.00 can take courses up to 50% of the maximum course load. (9) The total weekly course hours for students enrolled in minor and double major programs cannot exceed forty hours. (10) Some courses may be offered in both semesters with the request of the department, the proposal of the Board of Directors, and the approval of the University Board of Directors. Courses offered in a different semester than the one they belong to are included in the course load of the semester they are offered. (11) The principles regarding students sent to domestic and international universities within the scope of domestic and international student exchange programs are determined by the decision of the board of directors upon the opinion of the relevant department. (12) Students who have completed the required compulsory and elective course credits for graduation may delete these courses from their transcripts with the decision of the Board of Directors based on the petitions they submit to the Dean's Office, where they are declared unsuccessful.
