Program Competencies

1- Advances proficiency in English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Acquires the English language proficiency to effectively express oneself both in written and oral forms on national and international platforms.

2- Learns various works of English literature and their historical, cultural, and social contexts. 3- Studies the structure, characteristics, and development of the English language. Gains competence in grammar, phonetics, syntax, semantics, morphology, pragmatics, and discourse analysis.

4- Possesses the knowledge and skills to translate texts from English to Turkish and Turkish to English in various fields and at all levels.

5- Learns the latest information and technologies relevant to the field. Acquires the knowledge, skills, and competencies to practice their profession in the English language in different countries around the world.

6- Has sufficient knowledge and expertise in linguistics, foreign language teaching, literary criticism, and text translation. Possesses the competence to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in relevant fields.

7- Identifies problems encountered in their profession and develops solutions to meet expectations. Acquires the ability to collaborate with relevant institutions to solve problems encountered in the profession.

8- Develops professional ethics and responsibility awareness.

9- Acquires interdisciplinary knowledge and perspective. Learns about the relationship between language and literature studies and other disciplines through interdisciplinary courses.
